Heaps of adorableness

I take a lot of pictures, and most of them are the same...but there's no denying that this kid is freakin' adorable.  A collection of a few recent ones:

This photo looks like an action shot of him landing in his swing.
However, he is fully passed out here.

Enjoying his Bumbo seat while dad fixes lunch.
Andrew likes to chew on fingers.  Here, he shoved Emily's finger into his mouth and just sat there like this.

Working with dad

I decided to go down and help dad work.  But I thought his work was boring.  So I fell asleep instead.

Andrew's Memphis Weekend

Andrew took a trip to Memphis this past weekend to go to a wedding and visit some family.

Emily drove up from Atlanta to Memphis alone with Andrew on Thursday.  While it was a long drive, Andrew did much better than we expected...sleeping some of the way.  Sam and Emily drove back to Atlanta on Monday with Andrew.  Yet again, he did pretty well, and we made only two stops along the way.

Okay...we know you just want the pictures!

Drying off after my bath!

Hanging out with my Granddaddy Sam!
Saying hi to Grandmommy Tonya!
Meeting my Aunt Noell!

Looking adorable with my little hat.  In fact, I'm Captain Adorable.

2 Month Check-up!

Technically, he's not two months old quite yet.  We scheduled his appointment a little early so that Sam could be there.  It went really well!  Andrew is 13 lbs 7 oz and 24" long.  That puts him in the 90% for both height and weight.  We have a well proportioned big boy!  He's already growing out of his 3-month clothing!

I found a couple different height calculators online and typed in his measurements.  One of them was based on statistics and has been generally accepted for over 50 years, and the other was just for fun.  Based on his current measurements, my height, and Sam's height, both said Andrew is likely to be 6'1".  I know there is really no way of knowing, but I like that number!

Andrew also got his first round of immunizations on Thursday.  No parent wants to see their child in pain, but he took it like a champ!  He got three shots in his thighs and cried a little bit.  His last vaccine was administered orally and he was back to smiling before he even finished that one!  He was a little cranky yesterday because of the immunization side effects, but he already seems back to normal.  Maybe even better than normal . . . . it's after 10:00 am and he's still fast asleep!

Photos from the Week

Andrew and I went to a movie earlier this week.  AMC movies has a "Bring Your Baby Matinee" once a month where they sponsor a baby-friendly showing of a new release.  They keep the lights up and turn the sound down low so the babies don't get scared.  It was kind of liberating to be in a place where nobody cares if your baby starts crying.  There were babies screaming, moms breast-feeding, and all sorts of other chaos in the theater and it didn't bother me a bit.  I will say, however, that Andrew was the best behaved baby out of all of them.  He hardly made a peep during the two hour movie!

Sam and I figure that Andrew will probably need glasses.  I mean, we both have pretty cruddy eyesight, so it's probably inevitable.  I think we'll be okay though. . . . . he looks super cute in glasses!

And just a few photos from bath time.  He usually loves his baths, but lately he's been getting a little too relaxed in them.  It's all fun and games until somebody poops in the tub.  Now we try and time his baths around his dirty diapers to keep that from happening.  Really, it's not fun for either of us.

Mommy's Birthday

This little stinker is what I woke up to the other day.  He also had a birthday balloon and card attached to his Rock'n'Play (where he sleeps).  Sure, he was crying and had a full diaper, but he wanted to wish me a happy birthday anyway.

I had a fantastic birthday with friends, Sam, and Andrew.  We all went out to our favorite Latin restaurant followed by some frozen yogurt.  We're very lucky to have friends who love Andrew as much as we do.  We're not the types of people to sit around at home now that we're parents, but sometimes it can be hard to socialize with a baby.  So far, that's not been the case with us.  I think most people would get upset if we showed up without him.

On an amazing note, Andrew slept almost seven hours straight last night!  On a good night, we can get a five hour stretch out of him, so this was quite the surprise!  I hope it continues. . . .
