Strawberry Picking!

Andrew and I went strawberry picking today with some friends.  I wasn't sure how he'd do with it, but he ended up having a blast!  The place we went was organic and pesticide free, so the kids could eat the berries right off the bush.  It was so much fun!  We can't wait until other berries are in season!

Picking a few berries from this side.

A couple more from that side.

Sampling the merchandise.

Two hands?  Two strawberries for snacking!

His sampling was slowing down the other
berry pickers.

Walking and eating was too much
work, so he made himself comfortable.

He realized that he could kick back,
relax, and grab fresh strawberries right
off the bush!

Balance Beam!

As much as Andrew loves playing at the gym, there are two things that he's never been a fan of.  First is any kind of upper body exercise.  I can't say that I blame him though.  He's got a lot of weight to try and hold up on the trapeze.  The second thing he hates is balancing.  Ever since he's started walking, we've tried playing on the balance beam.  He's always HATED it.  He whines and drops to his knees.  Well, not today!  This morning he did the balance beam all by himself!  He didn't even have to hold our hand!

I love the look on his face when he finishes.  He's SO proud of himself.  You can even hear everybody cheering for him in the background.

Rainy Afternoon Silliness

It's raining here today, so Andrew and I are just being silly and trying to have fun inside.

Two Year Photos!

I can't believe my little boy is about to be two!  We decided to get some professional photos done today to commemorate the occasion.  We played at a park for an hour with the photographer snapping away.  We even ended up in the river to play.  The water was FREEZING, but Andrew didn't seem to mind.  He was having a blast!  Well, the photographer posted a few photos on Facebook this afternoon as a sneak peek, so I thought I'd share them with all of you!

Big March Update

It's been forever since we've updated.  Things have been really busy between Sam working, Emily running races, and Andrew's busy social calendar.

But here are a bunch of recent photos and videos of Andrew.

First of all…just a couple of cute pictures from the last few months.

And, now…some of Andrew's activities...

Having fun with mommy.

Playing "store" at the Childrens' Museum in Atlanta.

Andrew going down a big inflatable slide.  He LOVES this.

Andrew loves putting balls into basketball hoops.

Playing in a bounce house.  Andrew likes getting rough in these.

Score!

At the kids' gym, Andrew loved when the teachers start
hamming around.  In this case, the teacher puts stuff on her
head, then "sneezes" so it falls off.  Andrew always reacts
with a belly laugh or an "Oh Nooooooooooo!"

Andrew loves running around naked after his
baths.  And jumping on trampolines.
The two together are pretty darn funny.
Sometimes Andrew gets ahold of one of our phones.  He knows
how to do a lot of things on it.  One of them is to activate
Siri, which makes a little "bong" noise, which makes him giggle.

Andrew has gotten really interested in
building structures with his Mega Bloks.
This is one of his more masterful creations.

Andrew put on Emily's shoes and walked around the house.

Playing in the sand.  Andrew also really enjoys collecting
rocks at the playground.  He'll run all over the place,
grab 10-15 rocks, and bring them all back to his
sorting location, where he counts them.

After a long, hard day…you need a bath.
No, really…it started just as a tub with some water for him
to play in.  Then he decided to get in.

Andrew tries his first popsicle.  While he enjoyed it,
it made a mess, covering him with orange goo.

Dip! Dip! Dip!  Andrew got his own ice cream, and has
even started using his own spoon to eat it.

One of the play centers in Atlanta is geared
towards children with special needs.  One of
their rooms is the "sensory room", which has
all sorts of colored and moving lights.
Andrew really loved the big, color-changing
bubble tubes.

The Zoo!

Andrew and I joined some friends for a trip to the zoo today.  We had three toddlers under two years old, and it was nap time, but we did surprisingly well.  I just wanted to share a few of the pictures from our afternoon.

By far, Andrew's favorite part was the petting
zoo.  He loved feeding and brushing the goats.

Andrew and his friend Noah grooming the goats.  For a size
reference, Noah is exactly two months younger than Andrew.

We decided to hit the carousel and train on
the way out.

It was apparent that it was past nap time.
Somebody was NOT a fan of the train.

We barely made it out of the parking lot
before Andrew passed out.  I think that's the sign
of a successful trip.

February Photos!

It's been way too long since we've done an update.  Sam just got home after being out of town for three weeks.  While he was gone, Atlanta got hit with snow and an ice storm.  Andrew and I spent a lot of time inside in our pajamas.  We jumped at every opportunity to get out of the house and play because we were both suffering from cabin fever.

Andrew's first real snow!  He loved it, for about five minutes.

Once he realized that snow was cold, he was
done and wanted to go back inside.

Business casual Andrew at My Gym.

The ONE day we were able to get out to the playground!

I took Andrew to a new indoor playground.

This one has all sorts of new things to play with!

Bouncing around at the playground!

Just some giggles before bedtime.

Any time the temperature was cooperating,
we'd take the wagon for a stroll around the
neighborhood.

In an attempt to avoid the ice and power outages,
Andrew and I headed to Hilton Head for a few days
this week.  Papa let him pull out all of the pots
and pans.  Andrew was so happy, since he's not
allowed to do this at home.
