Just Because

15 Months

Andrew had his 15 month check-up the other day and all is well. He hasn't gained too much since his one year appointment. The pediatrician thinks he'll continue this trend as he becomes more active. His height is still on the top end of the charts too.

We talked a bit about Andrew not talking, and he's not worried at all. He said that if he wasn't saying 3-5 words by his next appointment in October, we'll start to look into it. Boys tend to talk later than girls, and he's advanced in so many other things. He also has the ability to make lots of different letter sounds. He just doesn't put them together in to words yet. I have a feeling that once he figures that out, he won't stop talking. For now, we'll enjoy the "silence."

Playing with his buddy Dylan. (Who happens to be almost a year older)

Funny faces during breakfast.

Andrew knocked his dinner on to the floor and decided to eat it there. At least he was thoughtful enough to grab a mop and kitchen towel to clean up after himself.

Rainy Days

There haven't been too many updates lately, mainly because we've been pretty boring. The weather in Atlanta has been unreal. We're set to break the all time record for the wettest year in Atlanta. Needless to say, it's no fun being stuck inside all day. Especially when you're one.

Reading books on the couch.

Funny faces in the bath.

More reading. This kid LOVES his books.

And this is what cabin fever looks like when you're one.

He's gotten several more teeth, so now I think he's up to 10, with two more coming in. He's got his 15 month appointment coming up, so I'm sure we'll have an update then!

Fun at the Splash Pad

This video was from a couple of weeks ago at another splash pad. Andrew has a lot of fun and a few surprises with one of the fountains!

Happy Father's Day!

Sam has been out of town all week, but we've been getting by just fine around here.  Since Sam gets back at bedtime tonight, we wanted to sneak a little Father's Day present in his suitcase before he left.  Andrew and I decided that it was time to finger paint.

We painted outside and in just a diaper
so cleanup would be easier.
It took Andrew a little bit to get into
the swing of things, but then he loved
the mess!
The finished product.  I put "DAD" stickers
on the canvas before we started, then
peeled them off when Andrew was done
painting.  I think it turned out really well!
A quick bath to destroy the evidence, and
Daddy never had a clue!

Randomness

It's been a while since we've done a decent blog post of random pictures.  These pictures date from early May until early June.  A couple of fun videos are included as well.

Andrew got a new swing for his birthday,
and we hung it below our deck downstairs.
He loves swinging down there.

Playing in the swings at the park.

Just being adorable.

Playing in his new water table.

We added some play balls to a little play
pool on the back deck.  Andrew can't
get enough of that!

Playing in the ball pit at the baby gym.

Being cute while making a mess of his snack...
on the floor.

Sometimes, after a long, hard day, you just want
do drop into your favorite chair and watch
TV.  This was after a particularly trying day.
He just sat still in his chair for a while
watching Baby Einstein.
This video is Andrew climbing at the baby gym.  he has mastered the nearly-vertical wooden ladder.  This isn't the best video...he can usually get up this thing in about 10 seconds, then he usually climbs up onto the rungs of the play structure after that.  He's been able to climb this for over a month now.  This kid LOVES climbing!  In the second half of the video, he is starting to walk on an open-rung horizontal ladder.  We haven't managed to get a video of it yet, but he can make it all the way to to the play structure on this.  Pretty impressive for a 13-month old!

Emily got a big present for her birthday, and in the box was a lot of packing paper.  As you can see, this put Andrew in heaven!
